The Tasmanian Abalone Council (TACL) is the voice of the fishery, representing divers, non-diving quota-holders, processors and exporters. Through sound management practice and skilled harvesting and processing techniques, the industry has successfully translated natural advantages into commercial opportunity, ensuring a sustainable future for the industry in Tasmania.

The TACL was established in 1994 to support and promote all facets of the industry and remains committed to furthering the interests of all trades, businesses and professions connected with, interested in or affected by any aspect of the abalone fishery in Tasmania. As the united voice of one of Tasmania’s premium and most valuable industries, the Tasmanian Abalone Council represents and articulates the views and needs of all stakeholders and allied interests alike.

The TACL is committed to further improvements through research and management initiatives.
